Learn More about Our Lawn Care Services
Spring Cleanup
Spring cleanup includes blowing leaves out of your landscape beds, dethatching turf, and removing dead, matted, and unwanted grass. Debris will be collected and hauled away or dumped in your on-site compost.
Weekly Mowing
Weekly mowing visits include mowing your lawn on the same scheduled day each week (weather permitting). Our staff will mow, trim around your house, trim around obstacles such as trees and beds, and blow the clippings off hard surfaced areas.
Fertilizer & Weed Control
Lawngevity offers 3 Tiers to our fertilization and weed control services. Unless otherwise requested, Silver is the default tier for plans including fertilization services.

Grub Control
- Grub control is beneficial to your turfgrass and plants around your home. This application will prevent dead areas in your lawn caused by Japanese beetle grubs feeding on your root systems.
- Included within the platinum or gold fertilization tiers or as an add-on service.
Aeration
- Fall aerification is recommended to decompact soils from mowers and foot traffic. Aerating your lawn every fall promotes deeper root growth, bringing oxygen to your root system and promoting overall health for your turfgrass. Overseeding is a great addition to your fall aeration, inviting more turfgrasses and thickening areas of your lawn that are struggling.
- Lawngevity also provides an optional microbial aerification treatment. This treatment is a good alternative to areas of your lawn with buried features such as a dog fence or irrigation system that can be damaged by traditional aeration.
Fall Cleanup
Fall cleanup occurs at the end of the maintenance season, typically November. It includes blowing leaves out of your landscape beds and hard surface areas around your home. Debris will be bagged and hauled away or dumped in your on-site compost.
Fungicide
- Fungicide treatment is beneficial to your lawn to prevent turf diseases that are problematic in Minnesota. Such diseases include Ascochyta leaf blight, summer spot, and dollar spot.
- Included within the platinum or gold fertilization tiers or as an add-on service.
Shrub & Tree Trimming
- Shrub and tree trimming is available year-round. Our staff will assess your property and make suggestions regarding plant health and pruning recommendations. Tree trimming is limited to ornamental trees, and low hanging branches.
- If you require large removal, climbing, or stump grinding, we can refer other trusted vendors.
Overseeding
Overseeding is the process of spreading new grass seed directly into an existing lawn. It is a proven method to thicken turf, improve color, and restore worn or patchy areas without the need for complete lawn replacement.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does lawn care cost?
Plan pricing varies depending on your property’s location, size, and complexity. All of these are assessed during our in-person review of your property and factored into our quote.
How does billing and payment work?
- Most maintenance plans are billed monthly. Expect to see a bill in your email inbox the first week of each month. This bill covers the previous month’s completed services.
- A separate invoice will be sent for one-off or additional prices services.
- Invoice payment terms will be specified on the invoice, but typically are due 15 or 30 days after issue.
How do I make special requests for my yard (e.g. closing gates, moving downspouts, etc.)?
You can make requests at the time of the estimate or any time after. These notes will be put into our CRM software and customer account portal for our staff to see.
Will my lawn care occur on the same day of the week every week?
Yes. Weather permitting, weekly mowing will occur on the same scheduled day each week. Holidays such as Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day will place your lawn one day behind schedule.
Will I receive the same mowing crew each week?
Yes, unless a rare circumstance arises requiring us to send a different crew.
Do you adjust mowing length?
Yes. At the beginning of the season the mow length will start short and increase as the temperature increases. We will start lowering again in the fall.
Do you vary mowing patterns?
Yes. If weather conditions and your yard layout allow, we change our mow pattern weekly.
How do you clean up after weekly mowing?
We blow hard surfaced areas free of grass clippings at the end of each weekly mow.
Do you collect and remove grass clippings?
No. The University of Minnesota continuing education recommends leaving clippings on the lawn. It’s free nitrogen and a natural fertilizer equivalent to 1 fertilization per growing season.
What chemicals do you use for fertilizer, grub control, and fungicide?
All chemicals are top of the line professional grade from a local supplier and blended specifically for our clients.
Are your chemicals kid- and pet-friendly?
Per label recommendations, children and pets should stay off turfgrass until it’s dry.
Does your weed control treatment address creeping charlie, crab grass, and wild violet?
Yes.
When do you typically start and stop lawn care services during the year?
Spring cleanup starts the season and typically falls between April 15th and May 1st. Fall cleanup ends the season and typically falls between November 1st and November 20th.
